Here’s a message from the BCRF forum about Breast Cancer News:

“CURE magazine will be covering the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium Live on their website December 12th to the 16th. The San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium is the largest meeting of breast cancer researchers and advocates in the world. CURE will be reporting daily on the state-of-the-art information released during the conference on the prevention, diagnosis, and therapy of breast cancer. Kathy LaTour (who spoke at Sharing the Knowledge in 2004) will be blogging about advocacy issues and doing interviews with survivors. To get her daily postings, go to Healtoday.com and opt in with your name and e-mail – this is only for the San Antonio postings, you won’t be signing up for something for the rest of your life! As a special treat, when you sign up you will get four free issues of HEAL magazine, the new magazine for survivors.”

If you do read LaTour’s blog during the symposium, let us know! Share your thoughts about it -and any news or resources about breast cancer resources in our forums at www.bcrf.org/forum.

We are launching a new website today that we hope will allow enhanced communication between BCRF friends, retreatants and women thinking about attending a retreat. The new website features an online forum for chat about retreats, BCRF events and programs or latest breast cancer news. We especially hope women who have been on a retreat will use the forum to stay connected with each other. You will need to register a user account before chatting in the forums. If you have any questions about how to do this, please email claire@bcrf.org and I’ll help you get started.
Another new feature of the website is this blog! The blog will help our staff post information and updates easily, and we hope you will bookmark it and check back here frequently to learn what is new at BCRF. We are currently not allowing comments on the blog, but if you have feedback about the site or any blog postings you are welcome to post your message in the forums.
Thank you to Brett Farrey for his tireless help building the new website and implementing the forums and blogs. And thank you to Mark Fitzgerald for donating his time and considerable skill to the new website header. We are excited about this new phase in our online identity and hope you will take a tour of the new website!
