Metastatic breast cancer occurs when cancer cells break away from the breast and spread to other parts of the body, like vital organs such as the lungs, brain, liver or bones.

Targeted therapy is a fast-growing area of cancer treatment that uses drugs or other substances to fight cancers by targeting specific tumor-promoting proteins or pathways.

There’s nothing more important than stopping breast cancer in its tracks. But what people don’t always understand is that, if detected early, breast cancer can often be controlled. It’s when the disease spreads, or metastasizes, that it turns lethal.
