Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer x

After Yen Lam, 44, was sent for a biopsy on her left breast following a suspicious mammogram and ultrasound, she didn’t have much time to worry about it. She was busy traveling for work in the days that followed.

Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is the second most commonly diagnosed type of invasive breast cancer, accounting for 10-15 percent of all invasive breast cancers. However, ILC is an understudied disease and has only recently been recognized as a unique subset of breast cancer.
