About the Program

In 2026, Zeta Tau Alpha committed $2.5 million over the next two years to support five groundbreaking research projects through BCRF. With this new commitment, ZTA’s total funding to BCRF since its initial grant in 2022 will reach $4.25 million.

ZTA’s meaningful national partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation was a natural collaboration rooted in shared commitment to ending the disease through research. In 2022, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of ZTA’s adoption of breast cancer education and awareness as its national philanthropy, the ZTA Foundation made an initial, landmark grant of $500,000 over two years to BCRF to support its innovative work using artificial intelligence to advance early detection and improve breast cancer risk prediction.

Inspired by BCRF’s hyperfocus on eradicating breast cancer through cutting-edge research, ZTA deepened its support in 2024 with a $1.25 million commitment over two years to continue to expand research efforts into early detection, improved screening protocols, and prevention studies.

This ongoing partnership reflects ZTA’s belief that education, awareness, and investment in scientific research are key to ultimately defeating breast cancer.

About Zeta Tau Alpha

Zeta Tau Alpha is a women’s membership organization founded in 1898 by nine young women to perpetuate their ties of friendship. More than 125 years later, over 318,000 women have been initiated into ZTA, which continues to make a difference in the lives of its sisters from their collegiate years and beyond.
The ZTA Foundation was chartered in 1954. It supports educational and leadership programming and currently provides more than $1.5 million in scholarships to ZTA sisters every academic year. The Foundation adopted breast cancer education and awareness as its national philanthropy in 1992. Think Pink® is a registered trademark of ZTA and has been inspiring members to raise awareness for more than 30 years.
