In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, KnitWell Group, comprised of Ann Taylor, Chico’s, Haven Well Within, Lane Bryant, LOFT, Soma, Talbots and White House Black Market, will return to their successful “Sisterhood of Strength” campaign, with all eight KnitWell brands coming together to support BCRF.
KnitWell Group’s 20 million active customers across the US will have an opportunity to donate at checkout or to purchase a brand specific Cares Card. With each Cares Card purchase, a percentage of the purchase price will be donated directly to BCRF, and customers will receive a discount on their purchase. Select brands will also be selling products that benefit BCRF.
This year, KnitWell will host an in-store “Pink Day” on Saturday, October 4, with KnitWell matching up to $50,000 in donations made in stores and online.
White House Black Market inspires women to embrace both their power and their femininity. For women by women since 1985, the brand was built on the foundation of WHITE + BLACK, fashion’s most iconic contrast that inspires everything they do. Powerful + feminine. Authentic + confident. Designer + attainable. Because no woman is any one thing. Now more than ever, the modern working woman has a new way to dress. And we’re right there with her. Taking our runway-inspired looks and making them her own with the goal to empowHER with modern femininity, attainable designer style and versatile pieces.
This year, the KnitWell Group and all of its retail brands will focus their generous support on research efforts directed toward breast cancer prevention. A world free from breast cancer includes preventing the disease from occurring in the first place. In 2021, the World Health Organization announced that breast cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the world, surpassing lung cancer for the first time and impacting more than 2.3 million people globally. Soaring incidence rates can only be tamed through prevention. For this reason, KnitWell brands are committed to funding research that stops this disease from ever taking root.
Three pillars of prevention research will greatly benefit from the KnitWell Group’s support: understanding the factors affecting breast cancer risk; improving early detection screening practices; and developing intervention strategies to reduce risk. BCRF and KnitWell are proud to support researchers that are addressing all aspects of breast cancer prevention.
