The brand adds to their previous investment in the CAKES x BCRF She’s Not Too Young research fund, dedicated to supporting lifesaving research
CAKES body continues their partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) with a new minimum $250,000 commitment by June 2027 to research and education focused on younger women with breast cancer.
CAKES’ investment comes on the heels of last year’s $400,000 pledge to launch She’s Not Too Young: A CAKES body x BCRF Fund for Younger Women with Breast Cancer. The fund supports the full spectrum of BCRF’s research portfolio, including prevention, risk assessment, treatment innovations, and survivorship support. This year’s renewed commitment continues to bolster research focused on understanding and addressing the unique needs of women diagnosed with breast cancer under 50.
“At CAKES, we believe investing in this research will change the future for women facing breast cancer today and tomorrow,” says Director of Brand Marketing Anna Crollman.
Supporting women is at the heart of CAKES’ mission. Founded in 2022 by sisters Casey Sarai and Taylor Capuano, the brand offers bra alternatives and nipple covers to help people with breasts feel comfortable and free in their bodies. When they learned that their products were popular among breast cancer thrivers undergoing treatment and breast reconstruction, they knew they had an opportunity to deepen their impact on women’s health.
“CAKES was built by listening to women, talking openly about their bodies, and creating solutions for issues that too often get overlooked or treated as uncomfortable,” says Capuano. “That responsibility has grown along with our company.” To date, CAKES has donated over $1.5 million to women’s health causes.
As part of its new $250,000 commitment, CAKES is also donating 30% of revenue from its limited-edition Give Back Bundle, up to $50,000, to BCRF. The bundle includes the brand’s best-selling Grippy and Sticky Circles along with a Breast Health Checklist developed alongisde BCRF.
For the first 6,000 bundles sold, CAKES will also donate a pair of CAKES with Nips—designed in collaboration with breast cancer thrivers—to organizations serving survivors, previvors, patients, and people living with metastatic breast cancer who have lost their nipples to breast cancer.
CAKES’ continued investment in BCRF reflects the brand’s steadfast dedication to women’s health and empowerment, not only in its products, but in helping advance lifesaving research that improves outcomes for those affected by breast cancer.
