American Society of Clinical Oncology hosts 54th Annual Meeting in Chicago

BCRF presents breast cancer research highlights from ASCO’s Annual Meeting focusing on Collective Wisdom and the Future of Patient- Centered Care and Research

The American Society of Clinical Oncology hosted its 54th annual meeting in Chicago, June 3- 6. The ASCO annual meeting is the largest oncology meeting in the world and this year hosted more than 36,000 cancer care physicians, medical professionals, patient advocates and industry representatives. The theme of this year’s meeting was "Collective Wisdom: The Future of Patient-centered Care and Research." In her opening address, ASCO president, Julie Vose, MD, MBA, FASCO emphasized the need to bring together the collective wisdom of multidisciplinary teams to help patients and their families and for research to be centered on improving patient care. 

More than 80 BCRF investigators attended the meeting to serve as session chairs, give podium talks on critical topics in breast cancer, or present data in one or more of the five posters sessions throughout the four and a half day meeting. BCRF was also recognized for it's longtime support of young scientists through its partnership with the Conquer Cancer Foundation.
