Breast ultrasound

A breast ultrasound is a non-invasive procedure in which sound waves are used to create an image of the breast. Mammograms are the gold standard in breast cancer screening, but breast ultrasounds may be used to supplement a mammogram if you have dense breasts or if a mammogram shows an abnormality.
