Remission is a term describes a decrease or lack of signs and symptoms of cancer in the body. There are two types of remission: partial and complete. Partial remission means the tumor is smaller but hasn’t totally disappeared. Complete remission means there is no evidence of cancer in the body; however, it is not synonymous with “cure” because the cancer could recur (come back).
