The brand pledges $400,000 to launch She’s Not Too Young: A CAKES body x BCRF Fund for Younger Women with Breast Cancer
CAKES body was co-founded by sisters Casey and Taylor Capuano in 2022 with a mission to create a reusable silicone nipple cover and help women feel flattered and free in their clothes. They didn’t imagine how quickly their product would resonate with women navigating breast cancer.
Shortly after launching, stories from breast cancer thrivers came pouring in, sharing the impact CAKES has made on their cancer journey.
“We quickly started hearing from women going through breast cancer and reconstruction that CAKES changed their lives and the way they felt in their clothes. We were blown away,” said Taylor. “The stories from our inspiring customers facing breast cancer helped us realize the depth of our brand and the opportunity to help women through our breast solutions.”

Since its launch, CAKES has donated over $1 million to women’s health causes. In 2024, the brand became an official BCRF partner with a $250,000 commitment. Last year, CAKES’ funding helped support BCRF investigator Dr. Laura Van’t Veer, a molecular biologist whose work focused on personalizing breast cancer treatment in real time.
This October, in response to rising breast cancer rates in younger women, CAKES deepened their commitment by increasing their investment to $400,000 in 2025 and launching a dedicated BCRF research fund, She’s Not Too Young: A CAKES body x BCRF Fund for Younger Women with Breast Cancer. The fund will support the full spectrum of BCRF’s research portfolio as it relates to breast cancer in younger women, including prevention and risk assessment, heredity, ethnicity and genetics, treatment, and survivorship projects. The establishment of the fund addresses a growing recognition that younger women diagnosed with breast cancer face distinct challenges and underscores the urgent need to study their specific risks and outcomes through research.
“Everyone knows someone touched by cancer and we recognize all the unique cancer stories in our community. We hope that through bold breast cancer research funding and a dedication to breast cancer risk education, we can change the future of the breast cancer experience,” said Anna Crollman, Cause Marketing Manager at CAKES body. “Through this partnership, we are proud to demonstrate our commitment to ending this disease.”
