Internship, BCRF and The Pink Agenda

Commitment: Four to Five Days per Week in Office

Development & Events Internship:

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, one of the premier non-profit organizations in the country, and its sister organization devoted to young professionals, The Pink Agenda, are looking for an enthusiastic intern to work in the Development & Events Department. The intern will work with the office staff on various event-related activities and strategic partnerships, and will have the opportunity to experience first-hand the inner-workings of a non-profit organization.

About The Pink Agenda:

The Pink Agenda (TPA) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to raising money for breast cancer research and care, as well as awareness of the disease among young professionals. Born of the belief that engaging today’s generation can go a long way toward finding tomorrow’s cure, The Pink Agenda finds, funds, and partners with people and programs that are improving the lives of those suffering from breast cancer and conducting the groundbreaking research necessary to improve their odds. The Pink Agenda has raised more than $4 million for breast cancer research and care.

The Pink Agenda shares a strategic partnership with BCRF, its long-term beneficiary. Through fierce fundraising and fabulous social activities The Pink Agenda is committed to making breast cancer history.

The Pink Agenda also partners with breast cancer survivor and television personality, Giuliana Rancic, and her initiative FAB-U-WISH. Through this partnership, TPA grants life-changing wishes to deserving young women undergoing treatment for this devastating disease.

Internship Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

  • Assist in the planning, production, and promotion of special events (i.e. New York Symposium and Awards Luncheon, Hamptons Paddle for Pink, The Pink Agenda’s Annual Gala)
  • Work with Paddlers for the Hamptons Paddle for Pink with their peer-to-peer fundraising
  • Play a role onsite at the Hamptons Paddle for Pink on Saturday, August 1
  • Write and produce material for communications efforts, including social media and website content for The Pink Agenda
  • Research and share opportunities to expand The Pink Agenda’s corporate partner portfolio
  • Assist with logistical support for events, including tracking of in-kind donations and maintaining inventory
  • Support all Development & Events staff as needed
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned, such as filing, scanning, and special research projects

Qualifications:

  • Best suited for currently enrolled undergraduate students or students pursuing a graduate degree in Fall 2020
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills are essential
  • Excellent writing ability and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and see projects through to completion
  • Courtesy and discretion with donors and proprietary information
  • Must be a highly motivated team player who enthusiastically embraces the mission of BCRF and The Pink Agenda

Learning Opportunities:

  • Exposure and direct experience with Raiser’s Edge and Salesforce, both valuable CRM tools in the non-profit industry
  • Experience working in a highly accredited non-profit organization
  • Gain knowledge and witness first-hand how to manage and execute highly acclaimed fundraising events
  • Gain onsite event experience at the Hamptons Paddle for Pink on Saturday, August 1
  • Opportunity to share and execute creative marketing and promotional initiatives
  • Make a difference in the lives of those touched by breast cancer
  • Further develop knowledge of basic administrative office functions
