The brothers discuss their ongoing commitment to BCRF
For Shep and Ian Murray, the co-founders of vineyard vines, the commitment to breast cancer research is personal as they lost their mom to the disease in 2003. vineyard vines has continually supported the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) to honor their mother’s legacy, and this year, has increased their commitment to $40,000. Additionally, 10 percent of the purchase price from this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Collection will be donated to BCRF between now and Dec. 31 (while supplies last).
We caught up with the brothers to talk about their partnership with the organization, the importance of community, and this year’s specially designed products.
What motivated you to partner with BCRF and increase your commitment this year?
Ian: For Shep and me, partnering with BCRF and to fund breast cancer research is a priority for us. In 2003, we lost our mom to breast cancer, and raising awareness and supporting research has been a mission close to our hearts ever since. During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re proud to honor those we’ve lost, those still fighting, and everyone affected by this disease, and our partnership with BCRF is an important way we bring that commitment to life.
As founders, what does this partnership mean to you on a personal level?
Ian: Our partnership with BCRF allows us to honor our mom’s legacy, by giving back and making a positive impact. Turning such a challenging experience into something meaningful reminds us every day why we started vineyard vines: to make a difference and create positive change.

How does BCRF’s mission align with vineyard vines brand values?
Shep: At vineyard vines, we’ve always believed in building community and sharing the “Every day should feel this good” lifestyle. That doesn’t just mean celebrating the good times, but also coming together during the tough ones. BCRF’s mission to fuel lifesaving research and bring hope to millions is exactly the kind of impact we want to support.
What do you hope your customers and community take away from this partnership with BCRF?
Shep: We hope that our customers feel inspired to be part of something bigger. Whether it’s shopping the vineyard vines BCA collection or simply learning more about the incredible work BCRF does, every action adds up. If our community walks away feeling more connected and empowered to make a difference, then we’ve done our job.
What was the inspiration behind the design for the collection? We especially love the tie!
Shep: Each piece of our Breast Cancer Awareness collection is designed to tell a story: our story and the story of everyone affected by breast cancer. We hope when people wear them, they feel part of something bigger and know they’re helping fund lifesaving research.
Anything else to add?
Ian: Just that we’re incredibly grateful for our customers, our partnership with BCRF and the Pink Lemonade Stand Challenge, and everyone who joins us in supporting this cause. Breast cancer touches every community, and together we can be part of the progress to change the statistics. We’re proud to honor our mom and so many others by continuing this partnership, and we can’t wait to see the impact we can make together.
